2019 was a huge year for KDG! We started the year in a brand-new building with plenty of empty walls, plenty of empty offices, and plenty of opportunities to get lost as we made our way from desk to desk. And while some of us still get lost from time to time, the walls are no longer bare and the once-empty offices are staffed with new team members who have come from all over the state just to work with us.
Here at KDG, there was no slowing down. From new employees and projects to new services and opportunities, it is safe to say that 2019 was our most successful, most rewarding, (and most hectic!) year yet.

Helping You Grow
2019 would not have been the year it was without you…our clients. You trusted us with your brightest ideas and our team helped bring them to life. From a series of higher ed crowdfunding campaigns that raised $1,000,000+ to a first-of-its-kind payroll processing application for a local nonprofit, we were fortunate enough to help create some industry-changing technology.
We’d love to highlight every single project our team has worked on, but we’d be here until at least 2022! So we’ve highlighted a few of our favorites, along with some awesome videos we had filmed this year so you can hear from our clients in their own words!
A Custom Desktop and Mobile CRM for Smart City Locating
Smart City Locating helps apartment hunters find their dream home. The growing organization knew that a one-size-fits-all CRM would not meet its needs, so they partnered with KDG to develop a one-of-a-kind custom application for their real estate agents. In 2019, the application had several major launches and is now being used every day by the team’s agents.
Zoho Development for autopom!
autopom! has a team of friendly agents that help car owners find extended protection for their vehicles. However, it was taking autopom! over a day to calculate payroll, commission, and bonuses. A custom Zoho Creator application helped the company generate payroll with the click of a button. Through the course of 2019, we helped refine the application and make sure its flexible features meet autopom!’s needs.
A Crowdfunding Tradition for Baker University
When Baker first approached KDG two years ago, the school had never done a day of giving before. That all changed after their inaugural campaign with KDG in 2018. Now, crowdfunding campaigns have become an annual tradition at this prestigious private college, with the school once again working with KDG in 2019.
A New Website for Exeter Orthodontics
Exeter Ortho has been a client of KDG for well over 10 years. They decided that 2019 was the perfect year for a website redesign and a boost to their digital marketing strategy. KDG helped the organization build a brand-new interactive website featuring customer reviews.
A Custom Payroll Solution for The Arc
The Arc of Lehigh and Northampton Counties is a leading nonprofit with over 700 employees. Legacy software and government regulations made automating payroll a challenge. We helped the organization develop a custom portal and application for employees where they could enter timesheets from their mobile devices. This data is then integrated with the organization’s payroll system for an automated, seamless process.

2019 wasn’t only filled with client projects. It was filled with a variety of internal commitments and achievements, including the creation of a new service, an increase in new hires, and recognition as IT Department of the Year by the American Business Awards.
Unveiling Accounting Services
In January of 2019, we created an entirely new service here at KDG. With a team of certified accountants and Zoho Books developers, we were able to help businesses manage their bookkeeping, migrate their financial data, run custom reports, and make more confident decisions on their financial future. With our accounting services, we have the tools and technology to help businesses achieve what their in-house accountants can’t.
A Rebrand for KDG
We couldn’t talk about the year’s projects without talking about our website redesign. KDG is no longer the “tech company” that will just build your website. We’re the business processes company that will help you grow, disrupt, and succeed. We refined our services, our goals, and what we wanted KDG to be. All of this was worked into a fresh new website with a unique, interactive design so that users can discover the new KDG. Explore KDG’s New Site.
In 2019, we dedicated ourselves to being the company that people cheer for! We celebrated our first-ever KDG Day and started regular accountability meetings to help us improve project management. We even started incorporating the “five elements of customer experience” into every interaction and engagement. Asking others to cheer for us starts with cheering for ourselves and becoming a company with goals, values, and a vision that we can be proud of.
We achieved tremendous growth this year. New hires increased by 60% and we even added a new team made up entirely of accountants! We onboarded project managers, front-end designers, IT professionals, ERP developers, digital accountants, and a brand-new COO…a much-needed role that KDG was excited to fill.
We’re thrilled to welcome so many new faces to our team. This diversity in hires enables us to provide more wide-ranging services to you.
2019 gave us plenty of reasons to cheer with three major award-wins: IT Department of the Year from the American Business Awards, Lehigh Valley Business of the Year (medium-sized) from Lehigh Valley Business, and #36 B2B company in the world from Clutch.co.
Since the beginning, all of you have been well aware of our commitment to community and client satisfaction. You’ve helped spread the word, hold us accountable, and make us better. Now, other prominent organizations are taking notice. This recognition would not have been possible without you.
Hindsight is 2020
2019 was a huge year for our team, but we’re using our achievements, our mistakes, and our growth to think even bigger for 2020. Come the New Year, we want to strengthen our focus on you, on us, and on the future. We want to:
- Keep learning: There’s still so much to learn. Technology is always changing, and so are expectations. We want to stay one step ahead so that can be on the cutting edge of your industry.
- Meet more clients: We love meeting our clients. Talking about your needs and planning for the future together always proves to be much more beneficial than a series of emails. Behind every successful business is a team that makes it happen, and we want to meet that team.
- Provide a cheerworthy customer experience: We were far from perfect in 2019. However, we’re committed to using your feedback to ensure that the mistakes we made in 2019 are not repeated in 2020. We’re revamping our engagement strategy come the New Year so that every interaction we have with your team is one you can cheer for.
