After a record-breaking 2017, our UI/UX design team hasn’t lost the momentum in the new year! The Horizon Interactive Awards—sponsored by InVision, Media Temple, and some other big names in the web industry—recently announced its 2017 award winners. Our team is thrilled to be recognized with two silver awards!

The awards, now in their 16th year, recognize a variety of projects in interactive media, including websites, apps, photography, and videos. There were over 1,000 entries from 17 different nations. Entries were judged on their creativity, originality, messaging, and user experience…something our team takes very seriously.

Our higher ed web design team’s website redesign for Saint Vincent College received the silver Horizon Interactive Award for a school or university website. With its vivid imagery, mobile elements, and unique “Explore Your Interests” feature, this site stands out from other higher ed sites and ensures users have a seamless experience whether they’re using a laptop or a smartphone.

Another silver Horizon Award was presented to our team for their work on Drexel University’s 2016 “24 Hours of Impact.” The gamified donor portal helped Drexel University raise a record-breaking $713,000 and trend on social media. This isn’t the only award for the higher ed crowdfunding campaign. It was recently recognized with a CASE Platinum Prize.

Both sites embody what Horizon Awards founder Mike Sauce says is “a return to simplicity of the user experiences, an emphasis on minimal design, a deepening of the importance of mobile first design, and more targeted and streamlined content to bolster the user’s offline experiences.”

Simple designs that create strong, memorable user experiences are always our main priority and we’re excited that the work our team and our clients have done to bring these elements to life has been recognized.
