Case Study: MXQ

Supporting & Streamlining Back-Office Bookkeeping

With dozens of international clients and two sister companies, MXQ needed an accounting team who wouldn’t only support their bookkeeping efforts, but streamline them.

Back-Office Bookkeeping

KDG helps MXQ with daily, weekly, and monthly back-office bookkeeping tasks. This extra helping hand lets MXQ get back to serving their customers.

Cloud Security

MXQ used Quickbooks desktop for their digital accounting needs. However, migrating to Zoho Book's cloud system provided more security and support.

Flawless Job Costing

With the Zoho Projects module built inside of Zoho Books, MXQ can see which expenses are associated with which project for a more thorough job costing overview.

Accounting Services & Bookkeeping

MXQ, a family-owned business, develops fluid handling systems for some of the world’s largest manufacturers and processing companies like Wajax and Imerys. They needed to turn to an expert who could manage their daily, weekly, and monthly back-office bookkeeping duties. And, after struggling with QuickBooks desktop, finding a partner who could move them to a new digital accounting platform wouldn’t hurt either. Zoho Books and KDG’s accounting services team could do both.

  • Back-office bookkeeping
  • Zoho Books support
  • Quickbooks Desktop migration
  • Accounts receivable & payable
  • Bank reconciliation
  • Zoho Inventory integration
  • Job costing
  • Zoho Expense integration

Zoho Books is the only accounting tool for confident, data-driven decisions.

Daily Duties

Daily, KDG’s accounting team uses Zoho Books and Zoho Desk to review and classify the company’s accounts payables. Meanwhile, any suspicious expenses or wires are flagged. This ensures mistakes are caught early so that monthly reporting isn’t only easier but more accurate.

Receivables, Payables, & Bank Recs

Every week, all accounts payable are added to Zoho Books and a report is run on any outstanding invoices. After review, MXQ tells KDG’s accountants which bills to pay. Then, bank feeds are reviewed. If all transactions are accounted for and kept up-to-date, bank reconciliation the next month is as simple as the click of a button.

Trusted Consulting

In addition to performing these back-office duties, KDG’s team provides consulting on budgeting, inventory management, cash flow, and other best practices. In less than five months, MXQ and its sister company went from not having an accounting team to being completely up-to-date on their reconciliations.

Quickbooks to Zoho Books

Starting in 2021, one of MXQ’s sister companies will begin its migration from QuickBooks Desktop to Zoho Books. KDG’s accounting and development experts will set up and customize the Books instance to meet MXQ’s needs.
