Inside KDG’s Strategic Plan 2026: Zoho Development

Strategic Plan 2026 represents an opportunity for KDG to refine not only how work is delivered, but how strategy and execution come together to support long-term client success. Across the organization, teams are aligning around a shared understanding of outcomes, partnership, and accountability. For technical teams in particular, that alignment means ensuring that solutions are not only functional, but purposeful.

As part of KDG’s Strategic Plan 2026 leadership interview series, we spoke with Mike Dranginis, AVP of Zoho Development at KDG, about how the Triple Fit Strategy is shaping his team’s approach to technology decisions, planning, and collaboration.

Seeing Beyond the Immediate Task

For Mike, Strategic Plan 2026 reinforced the importance of stepping back from day-to-day execution to focus on the larger vision guiding each engagement.

“The growing theme in my opinion comes down to being more strategic about the vision we’re painting within our engagements. It’s a matter of seeing beyond the trees and spending the time more so on the output or the desired success we or our clients want to be facing. It’s a matter of breaking down barriers that prevent us from getting to those conversations because those answers guide us to what we truly need to be doing.”

That perspective shifts the role of the Zoho development team from simply building technology to actively contributing to how clients achieve meaningful outcomes. Strategic Plan 2026 reinforced that the strength of KDG’s approach lies not only in its technical expertise, but also in the collaboration between teams across the organization.

“It was also increasingly evident that our organization provides a much tighter stitched level of diversity in service offerings that many other organizations simply can’t achieve successfully or have no desire of accommodating. We truly separate ourselves from the pack and our biggest threat would be allowing disorganization or misalignment between departments to erode the seamless trust our partners put in KDG.”

This interconnected perspective ensures that Zoho development is not treated as an isolated function, but as one component of a broader strategy designed to support client growth from nearly every angle.

Mike Dranginis, AVP Zoho Development at KDG, explains how Strategic Plan 2026 is reshaping the Zoho development team’s role from simply building technology to strategically guiding how clients leverage the Zoho ecosystem. Through the Triple Fit Strategy, Mike emphasizes focusing on long-term client outcomes—ensuring solutions are not only technically sound but aligned with broader business goals. By prioritizing the right-fit technology decisions, strengthening cross-department collaboration, improving clarity through enhanced documentation and visual system architecture, and incorporating reflective learning into team development, his team is creating more intentional and strategic implementations. The result is stronger alignment between strategy and execution and solutions that support meaningful, sustainable growth for both clients and KDG.

Planning for the Right Fit

Through the lens of the Triple Fit Strategy, Mike’s team is evolving how they evaluate solutions within the Zoho ecosystem.

“We’re pushing away from simply being great builders of Zoho technology and moving more towards best fit within the Zoho technology space considering our client’s needs. We have always said ‘The beauty and curse of Zoho is that it can do anything you want it to do for the most part, the struggle is knowing what to use to do so.’ We’re directly tackling that gap by ensuring total alignment on the long term success our clients are seeking. Even if we’re only interfacing through our internal stakeholders that act on behalf of our clients, we’re making sure the appropriate pause is being conducted to ensure alignment and fit before execution takes place.”

Rather than focusing solely on what can be built, planning is increasingly centered on whether a particular solution is the right solution for the client’s broader strategy. That shift reinforces the importance of alignment before development begins.

As KDG continues its ascent, this approach ensures that technical solutions are rooted in strategic intent rather than reactive implementation.

Improving Clarity Through Documentation

Strategic Plan 2026 also highlighted opportunities to improve how complex technical concepts are communicated. Mike’s team began experimenting with artificial intelligence tools to support documentation and visual explanation of system architecture.

“We began leveraging AI to enable us to produce high value documentation including visual representation on how the Zoho technologies all come together. In turn we’re looking to push our initiatives to filter through our client’s vision for success so that it can easily be communicated both externally and internally both in terms of success and failure points that the vision may face.”

Clear documentation creates alignment across teams and helps clients better understand how individual system components contribute to broader business outcomes. By making these connections more visible, Zoho development teams can support more informed decision-making throughout the lifecycle of a project.

“We’re reshaping what it means to work with a Zoho Developer in 2026. While many focus on implementation creativity and speed, we’re committed to championing the true business impact behind the decisions we make. By bridging the gap between a customer’s vision and system design, we create solutions that aren’t just delivered—but adopted, embedded, and lived within the customer’s culture. When we pair that same partnership mindset with clear expectations and intentional use of Zoho, we open the door to long‑term opportunities that extend far beyond a single system or engagement.”

Strengthening the Team Through Shared Learning

Strategic Plan 2026 emphasized modeled behaviors, role-play, and accountability. Mike’s team has incorporated those principles directly into their continued education sessions.

“We now use our weekly Continued Education sessions to reflect on a scenario or situation we experienced with a Customer of ours whether good or bad and reenact it out together in order for others to observe, discuss, and learn from opportunities for growth. We’re very much invested in growing ourselves as professionals that leverage Zoho technology as a vehicle for outcomes rather than growing ourselves as engineers that solve for what’s directly in front of us.”

“These sessions have allowed individuals of different skill levels to offer perspectives that others would not have considered when approaching the scenario themselves which in turn leads to greater team building and support structure as well as a more refined filter for our decision making.”

By continuously reflecting on real-world experiences, the team strengthens both its technical capabilities and its ability to navigate complex client situations.

Learning from Past Engagements

Mike reflected on a previous engagement that underscored the importance of aligning technical ambition with practical constraints.

“I had a client I worked with directly who had a limited budget but a lot of needs for system improvement. There was a great sense of eagerness to expand the system architecture and deliver high function software solutions that really would come at a greater cost than they expected.”

Looking back, the experience highlighted the importance of confronting practical considerations earlier in the planning process.

“If I were to rewind the tape and do it all over again, I would be tackling the budget discussion a bit more intentionally out of the gate to really understand what is realistic and work back from there.”

That reflection aligns directly with the principles behind Triple Fit. When conversations about priorities, constraints, and success metrics happen early, teams can focus on delivering the solutions that create the most meaningful impact.

Looking Ahead

As the Triple Fit Strategy becomes more deeply embedded across KDG, Zoho development will continue evolving its role within the broader client journey. By focusing on alignment, communication, and thoughtful planning, Mike’s team is ensuring that technology solutions serve as a foundation for measurable progress.

Strategic Plan 2026 represents another step forward in KDG’s climb. With stronger alignment between strategy and execution, teams are better equipped to help clients navigate complexity and move confidently toward their goals.
